Presented by Zonnie Borg of the Miss Oregon Pageant, the Lil Mr. & Miss Bohemia City Contest is a beloved Spirit of Bohemia Mining Days tradition, open to children ages 4 to 10!

Details for 2026 are still being finalized, but here's what families enjoyed last year:

Previous Highlights:
• Check-in near the Gazebo
• Contest held on the Heritage Stage
• Costumes encouraged — dress as a pioneer, prospector, or Bohemia-themed character!
• A short questionnaire, number badge, and time on stage
• Crowns, sashes, and prize packages for both Lil Miss and Lil Mr. winners!

I got my start at Bohemia Mining Days in 2019 with the Jail Cell Photobooth and helped with the Art Show we hosted that year. Each year since, the Jail Cell Photobooth has been a favorite among the citizens of Cottage Grove. In 2024, I stepped up to lead the Spirit of BMD celebration to ensure the event continued. Now, I am the Executive Director of Spirit of Bohemia Mining Days, a nonprofit dedicated to celebrating Cottage Grove's history, fostering community engagement, and inspiring future leaders through the annual festival and year-round initiatives.
